Designing with love for the beach life

We’re Jan and Miranda, creators of Bairiki. We’re also sisters, friends and business partners who live on different continents (yes, that sometimes is a challenge).
Jan is an artist designer, specializing in lush paintings of plants and animals, and CEO Miranda is a stylist/creator who has always been her sister’s biggest fan. We’ve always wanted to find a way to collaborate, and after a lot of hard work and a series of serendipitous events, Bairiki by Jan Barwick was created, showcasing Jan’s opulent paintings of the natural world in a luxury collection of Art-to-Wear.
Is that a thing? we think it is.

Originally from New Zealand, Jan has lived in the Western Pacific, London, Malawi, the Cayman Islands, Florida, and South West France. Miranda, who was born in
Tarawa, Kiribati, is now living in Atlanta, Georgia. As a result, Bairiki fabrics are printed with designs inspired by the exotic fauna and flora of some of the most beautiful places on the planet.

To help preserve those beautiful places, Beachlife is committed to employing artisans from the community as much as possible, supporting the local economy whilst respecting local traditions.

Over the years we’ve received a lot of particular requests for Jan’s magical underwater scenes, so now we are delighted to introduce Bairiki’s fun little sister, Beachlife. This is our newest line of clothing and embellishments for all you sun worshippers, beach bums, reef divers, and boaty types. Our designs are inspired by all things coastal, lush tropical flora and island beaches.
More than just a brand, Beachlife is for lovers of ocean, the thrill of the dive, and the tranquillity of a sail at sunset.
We believe that life's too short for boring beach gear and we're all about embracing the carefree, sun-kissed lifestyle, where every day feels like a beach vacation. That's why we've curated a collection of beachy must-haves that are as stylish as they are functional.
Beachlife offers sexy sarongs, roomy beach totes, big splashy towels, bright bandanas, and everything else that deserves a place in the sun. Fancy a rash guard with a sea turtle on it? We’ve got it. Need a sling chair covered in gorgeous coral? We’ve got that, too. And can we just say, who doesn’t want a bucket hat
with a parrot on it?

Life on the water has a special allure. Sand in your toes, salt in your hair, soft breeze on your skin. Whether your beach is a sandy cove, a lakeside dock, a towel by the pool or even a hot city roof, surf’s up, people. And you’re gonna need something groovy to wear.
